I’ve been on the hunt for a good book for like a month now!
I keep downloading samples onto my phone and not getting interested enough to make the plunge.
So in hopes of getting some good recommemdations from you guys I figured if I share – you’ll share, right?
(Christian would call that “being friendship” or say “That’s SOOO teamwork!” I love when he used the right words in the wrong way, it’s favorite:)
The Glass Castle
Have you read this? Cause there’s a reason it’s on the top. It’s a memoir (aren’t stories just better when their true?) about a woman who had a very interesting and difficult upbringing and made an incredible life in spite of it. I’ve only read two novels twice in my whole life (I’m not a huge fan of repetition) and this is one of them. I got as much out of it the second time as I did the first. It’s also a perfect book club book because there’s so much to discuss.
Big Little Lies
If you are just now discovering liane moriarty I truly envy you! I wish I could discover all of her fun books for the first time all over again! The characters are so engaging and relatable. The endings are never empty and unsatisfying. I’ve read every book she’s written and this one is most likely my favorite but they are all fantastic. (the only one I didn’t completely love was The Anniversary)
The Fault in our Stars
I laughed. I cried. I sobbed like a newborn baby. And then I read it again and then I watched it twice.
So, yeah, it’s pretty good.
The Wisdom of the Enneagram
So I realize that I’ve talked about the Enneagram before. Maybe a couple of times. Truth be told it’s taken some serious restraint to not talk about it EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
On the blog that is. In daily life, I don’t show much restraint.
Everyone I come in contact to is subject to hearing me reference it on the regular. You know that glazed over look people get when you’ve been talking about something for too long ? Sometimes that happens when I’m jabbering on and on about the personality types but even then I can’t stop! It’s like word vomit. I’m doing it right now even.
So I’ll stop but if you have any interest in understanding yourself and EVERYONE you know way better and having a better life and better relationships then read it:)
I usually read in bed before I go to sleep. But I couldn’t with this book. As much as I tried to hold it together I was constantly giggling and shaking the entire bed so hard when Nick was trying to sleep. If you aren’t already a fan of the Bloggess you will be after you read this.
I couldn’t find a book that even came close to making me laugh as much until I found this one. Do not drink or eat while reading or you will choke or spit it all over the room. That’s all I’m saying.
