Transitional Outfits

Wether you’ve gained weight because of a pregnancy or you’ve just fallen off the wagon on your diet I often feel like it’s not worth buying clothes.
When you’re only planning to be that size for a short amount of time it seems like kind of a waste of money.
My last pregnancy – aside from one pair of jeans I bought to wear to my shower- I pretty much just wore stretchy pants the ENTIRE TIME.
This time I’m really wanting to get some things that I can wear before and after.
Corrine from Mintarrow (she has an awesome blog where she gives the inside track on fantastic sales!)  came up with a few “transitional pieces” and since she’s not pregnant we thought we could both wear them to prove their versatility.
Mostly we just looked super cool walking around taking photos of ourselves in matching outfits:)

The High-low top: (hint wear it backwards to cover a belly!)

Top: Nordstrom | Maternity Jeans: Asos (I LOVE these!)

Drawstring Dress:

corrine-19  whitedress

Dress: Nordstrom  Shies: Both Target Both old:)

There are a couple more looks over at mintarrow today as well so be sure to hop over and see what other ideas we came up with in the meantime we also put together a fun giveaway for a discount to some Lacedhair Extensions (Corrine actually doesn’t have ombre hair in this photo it’s just the beauty of ombre clip-ins!) and a Maskcara Blush Bouquet (a pack of two blushes and an illuminator!) This is perfect for me! I’m still definitely in the transition phase despite the fact that my son is 9 months old… I finally bought a few pairs of pants that don’t stretch and felt like I was wasting money… Thanks for the ideas!!! Hope I can nab the giveaway!!! 😀

I’m at the point in my pregnancy where even maternity shirts creep up & expose my “underbelly”; so attractive 😉 I wish I would’ve seen these ideas earlier. I would’ve had a much more stylish pregnancy. Also, that giveaway!

Love the transitional pieces for the ‘growing’ body. I’d love some hints for a “shrinking” body??? I’ve lost 25 lbs & almost 30″ so far. I’m nowhere NEAR where I need to be, but I’m so far from where I was! Still, don’t want to buy a lot for this “in-between” phase, and I’m not having much luck at thrift/ resales…. HELP?!

I’m also pregant and want to buy those jeans! Did they fit small like other asos products or run true to size? Thanks!

    • Reply
      June 5, 2014 at 1:55 pm

They run pretty true to size you just have to be sure to do the US sizing and not the UK! I accidentally got mine in a US 2 (UK 6) instead of a 4 so they’re pretty dark snug!
