Over the weekend I was lucky enough to meet Mallory on her sweet sixteen birthday!
She’s one of those girls who is SO beautiful it’s hard to even look at her for too long.
Mallory wanted to learn some makeup skills but she also has to be to school at like 5 am so we needed it to be quick and easy.

The details:
For prep I added a little arch in her brows and started with some Maracuja oil for moisture.
I really didn’t want to cover her freckles…obviously, because in my wildest happiest dreams I have brown eyes and freckles. (I try to fake it with contacts and brown eyelinered spots but its just not the same!)
SO to even out her skin tone I used the IIID Foundation in dark (ever since spring hit I’ve been using so much more dark, which might be a good alternative for any of you who have a tan and are coveting the medium!) Using the contour color around the edges of her face really brought out her gorgeous complexion! Then I used the highlight color lightly beneath her eyes and brow bone and in her T-Zone area, which brightened her up without looking at all makeup-y.
Next I took a medium shadow brush and one of my favorite bronzers (from the Flower line at Walmart in Beachy Keen) and shaded in her eyelids and around her bottom lash line. I use this trick ALL THE TIME because it brings out your eye color and is pretty much foolproof – you can’t mess it up.
Then I did one coat of mascara and used a black liner right in her lower tear line.
I used the Pink Grapefruit

March 31, 2014 at 6:04 amYou mention shading under her eyes. How & what do you use specifically? Is there one shade that works for brown eyes better?
Cara
March 31, 2014 at 9:29 pmI used the bronzer and I love the way it looks! I think brown eyes are so fun because you can use absolutely any color you like and they are all complimentary!

April 2, 2014 at 7:16 amThank you. If I would have read in depth I could have figured that one out!! Haha. Too bad our Wal-Mart doesn’t have Flower available in store.

April 1, 2014 at 7:20 pmBy hel liner do you mean the brush tip liquid eyeliner in carbon black? That’s the closest I find to what may be a gel?
Cara

March 31, 2014 at 3:24 pmI wish I had skin like that too when I was 16! I had some acne problems that didn’t go away for most of my high school days. It was *miserable* to say the least. I cried a lot. 🙁

March 31, 2014 at 8:31 amI was wondering about the liner too.. I have trouble with tight lining my eyes and having them look great when I leave the house but later in the day the liner is running/smudging.. Just curious if you recommend a liner that might have more staying power.. thanks!!! beautiful look on her and super simple!
Cara
March 31, 2014 at 10:19 pmLoreal Gel Liner, it’s the best I’ve used for the tear line! another tip though it to start off by dabbing a q tip in your tear line to make sure it’s completely dry so the product can stick better:)

March 31, 2014 at 2:50 pmShe’s beautiful! I always wanted freckles like this too, and love to see girls flaunting theirs!
I actually have been thinking about ordering the dark foundation, and seeing it on her, I am certain it will work for me.
Love the Makeover Mondays!!!

March 31, 2014 at 3:12 pmBeautiful beautiful makeover!! I also love her name. 🙂 I wish I had a lovely splay of freckles! They all but disappeared when I grew up.

March 31, 2014 at 3:12 pmI love Makeover Mondays! By the way, have you ever used 100percentpure makeup with fruit pigments? Most of their products seem to have pretty light coverage. I recently started using it after having a decade + of cystic acne problems. Since using very little makeup (mostly 100% pure makeup) I haven’t been breaking out at all except a tiny pimple during “that time of the month.” I would love to try your makeup recommendations and your IIID products but I’m petrified. The redness from old pimples is mostly gone but brings attention to the slight pitting. Any recommendations on how to HAC away acne discoloration and dimpling for very sensitive skin? Or maybe a recommendation for cleansers/exfoliators to really get the makeup out of your pores?
