Secondly, it’s Sunday night and I’m packing…last minute of course and I am absolutely riddled with the anxiety of not wanting to forget anything that has built up over the years and years of ALWAYS forgetting something. Always.
Sooo…I gotta go finish. (I’ll take photos of my makeup packing tomorrow and show you guys my travelling tips)
But first! I wanted to give you a little Makeover Monday sneak peak by way of this beautiful woman:
What I did:
First I primed with a Bobbie Brown Face Base little bit of Benefit PoreFessional and then brushed in Nars Sheer Glow Foundation to even out her skin tone. She has some redness on her neck and chest that she wanted some advice for. I used Sally Hansen Leg Makeup in Fair to even her out there which is a really fun trick but beware, it can rub off on your collar so use some loose powder right around your shirt line.
Next I stipple Brushed on some Tarte Tickled in the apples of her cheeks. I chose that deep berry color because I just knew it would make her blue eyes shine.
For her eyes I used a felt tip black liquid liner on the top hugging the lash line, for some definition. Then I warmed up around the entire eye using a smudge brush and a mixture of Gold and Sable from the Lorac Pro Palette. Also I added a quick highlight on the brow bone with Nude (also in the Lorac Pro) and topped her lashes with Loreal Voluminous. I have found that for lashes that are at all on the dry side my new fav Benefit “they’re Real” is not the way to go since I think it makes the lashes look a little too stiff.
I very subtly contoured her cheeks and around the edges of her face with Bobbi Brown Natural Bronzing powder, which I also used to set her blush and my highlight concealer
I lined her lips with Covergirl in Mink and filled them with NYX Mood Lip gloss
Love you all!

July 1, 2013 at 11:11 amWhat kind of a camera do you use to take your pics, and where do you find is the best place to take the up-close shots with lighting and backdrop, etc?
lizteabee
July 1, 2013 at 1:52 pmShe’s got a link to her camera in the FAQ. I think (correct me if I’m wrong, Cara) that the lighting is just being near a window and the backdrop is a just a really neutrally colored wall. Hope that helps!

July 1, 2013 at 11:50 amBeautiful woman, beautiful makeover. 🙂 What’s the secret for the concealer/makeup under the eye not creasing (and I’m talking all makeup used to the application from bare skin to top coat, to the instruments used, please ….? Can I sound any more in desperate need of help in this department, lol(?)
lizteabee
July 1, 2013 at 2:06 pmShe’s got a post on under eye circles here: http://www.maskcara.com/maskcara/2013/03/21/baggage/
You can also watch her apply it in the HAC video.
Are you somewhere humid? I’ve found that make up that didn’t crease in the dry Vegas climate was a mess once I got back East.
Sandra
July 1, 2013 at 5:13 pmI’m in California – not really humid on a regular basis but today it is. I really don’t think it’s a humidity issue – it’s either technique or just don’t know what product to use. I’m currently using MAC’s moisturecover. I’ll check out her HAC video again and study it very, very closely. TY! 🙂

July 1, 2013 at 5:05 pmWhat an interesting makeover. She’s simply gorgeous without any help, but in my opinion, the combination of bold brows, a shimmery neutral eye shadow, and some blush really give her an extra wow factor.

July 3, 2013 at 1:04 pmWhat a stunner! At some point I would love to see a “brush” tutorial… I don’t think you have one yet? I probably have about 30 make-up brushes, but I have forgotten which ones are for what purpose?! I never seem to have the right one for concealing, highlighing, buffing, smoothing, eyeshadow under the eyes etc, perhaps I need to use them all for dual purposes. I’m trying to get my HAC on mama! haha Also, how often do you wash your brushes and how do you store them for easy access? Thanks!
Marie
July 4, 2013 at 12:51 amI love this makeover! She’s beautiful in both before and after, and the subtle touches just enhance her natural beauty 🙂
On a side note, I can’t find Mink eyeliner anywhere here in Canada, could you provide some alternate choices? Thank you.

July 4, 2013 at 1:02 pmWhat did you use on the eyebrows? In my opinion, what you did with the brows alone makes her look ten years younger. Nice work.
