2013 Resolution List.

It seems like these things are going out of style.
Every time I asked “what are you resolutoions this year?” I was met with grunts and shrugs and responses like: “They never work anyway.” or Nick’s unsurprising answer, “I don’t need New Years Resolutions, I’m perfect the way I am.”

I love making a list of goals and what better time than the start of a brand new year!?
It’s true I’ve made goals on this very day that have fallen wayside by mid (or early..) January, but hey, they haven’t all been failures. I figure if I post my list on he world wide web I might have even more motivation to save face and stick to em. So here goes:

2013 NYR
(in no particular order of importance)

1. Drink a fruit&veggie smoothie (and feed one to Christian) 5 times a week. Minimum. This will be EASY since St. Nick got me a Ninja for Christmas!
2. Review the 2013 Banished word/phrases list and adjust my vocabulary accordingly. YOLO…it was great while it lasted.
3. Go to the gym. This is a boring one but I have made a discovery some of the moms out there should check out, the gym by my house has a GREAT childcare area and here’s the best part, they film the little rug rats the whole time! so at any point during my (very strenuous) work out I can check on him via channel 123. I get endorphins, Christian gets to play with friends + I get a mommy break. WIN WIN! …I’ll let you know how it goes.
4. READ! I haven’t gotten a library card in Scottsdale yet. I plan to do that ASAP and start reading to Christian more, even if he wants to skip back and forth between pages and prefers a very short summary of what is written on the page.

That’s it.
Keep it short, helps with the success rate.

Have fun tonight! Kiss someone super sexy at midnight! Hopefully I am well enough to drag myself to the shower at some point today and  convince myself to get out of the house.

    I’m going to make an effort to do one random act of kindness every week. (I started early by putting a box of sees candy in the mailbox early December for mailman with a note that said, just because)
    I figure that will make someone smile at least 52 times. Oh, and the gym…. But we’ll see how that goes. Lol.

    That’s so funny – I was going to start doing daily (green) smoothies as well! For a good reference, there is a blog called the Green Plate Rule

    She has great recipes as well as sound nutritional advice.

    I’m doing juicing! It’s in the mail but I’m so excited. I’m horrible with eating veggies and fruits so I hope this will be tasteful enough to down and increase my energy. Good luck with your resolutions!

    YAY! To sort of combine two can I recommend the books: The Beauty Detox Solution (Kim Snyder) or Crazy Sexy Diet (Kris Carr). They’re about loving yourself, green juices, and loving life!

    First seeing Calvin and Hobbs made me smile (they’re my hubs favorite, he even has a tattoo of them), second I never make resolutions because anything I say I’m going to do out loud never happens. It’s just like when I was a teenager and when I saw children be rotten in public I said “Oh my kids will never act like that.” Yeah, my kids are rotten. Good luck with all your resolutions.

    New Year’s Eve happens to be my birthday and my 1st wedding anniversary all rolled up into one! I just turned 35 so my resolution for next year is not to get any older. lol But seriously, my resolution was to eat healthier, but I realize I’ve got to be more specific about it like you were. Perhaps it will be to eat veggies with each meal (maybe fruit at breakfast) and to also include protein for maximum energy. My hubby and I are going to Jamaica on the 15th so I have some serious bikini motivation! Happy New Year and I’m so happy I found your wonderful blog!

    HaPpY New Year Cara!
    My resolution last year was to giggle more. This year it’s to savor more. And do less. Less worrying, less stressing. I’ve already found a new way to diet and exercise. I try to eat only when I’m hungry, and ‘savor’ my food. I’m also trying to be more aware of snacking. As for exercise, I moved to a more walkable neighborhood. I’m one mile from two different shopping centers. On the weekends, I’ll walk there instead of driving. I can windowshop, grab a coffee, or bite to eat. There’s even a small theater. And on the walk home, it’s always a delight to see how people groom there homes and yards. During the week, I take the stairs at home and work. They’re a built in workout.

    I have been doing green smoothies for a long time now. I have some awesome recipes!! Question, what type of brush cleanser do you use? I am the “Mom” that works at home, NEVER Puts on makeup, sits around in jammie pants and never does anything to herself. I need to change that, but I was curious with all the ways you can use brushes, do you clean them everyday? Also, any recommendations on a good moisturizer? I am have Burts Bees, but I know it doesnt have sunscreen, and apparently I need to start using that on my skin too 🙂 Thanks!

    im trying to get away from the tanning bed for 2013…i know ive seen you use self tanners (i searched your blog for the tutorial but couldnt find it?) anyway i was just wondering if you have any new sunless tanners or methods you have tried and like? the only thing holding me back from making the switch to sunless is i cant find anything to use on my face that wont break me out. so if you’re looking for blog post ideas…id love to hear your latest on sunless tanners 🙂
